We hear from our newly appointed Temporary Works Manager Alex Thompson for our next Meet the Team......
Tell us about your role here at Bridges Pound
I am the (newly appointed) Temporary Works Manager. Temporary Works as a sector within the industry has grown in recent years, so fronting Bridges Pound’s role in this growth is a crucial task to ensure quality care for our clients.
How long have you been at BPL?
I have worked for Bridges Pound at various times since 2012. I started as student doing a placement year and was re-employed by BPL post-graduation.
What training and development have you had?
Bridges Pound has enabled me to develop from a student still learning to a confident engineer. I am still growing and building my knowledge experience 10 years on, especially in my new role.
How would you describe working here?
Challenging but supportive! I would say that we have a good team who all enjoy working together and support each other. There’s always time for a laugh which helps on those stressful days!
What do you like about what we do?
We don’t shy away from a challenge, the directors have built a team with a diverse range of knowledge and experience, meaning that whatever is thrown at us we are able to work together to get a commercially viable workable solution.
What’s the best part of working here?
Staff are given autonomy over workload and organising their working days, this is something that I have found especially important as I appreciate the trust that is placed in us to get designs issued out in a timely fashion.
How do you like to spend your spare time?
When I can find the time, a round of golf is definitely a favourite.
